Regime Change
We just witnessed a regime change.
Vastly different political philosophies clashed, bitterly, and on a soul searing basis.
Armies were recruited on both sides and tensions were overwhelming.
Demonstrations were held. Accusations flowed freely.
Dire warnings of catastrophic doom were made.
But once the decision was made .....
There were no out-of-control armies marauding and raping through the countryside.
There were no mass migrations to other countries, no refugee camps, no pictures of starving children dying in their mothers' arms.
No statues were toppled and no former regime members were dragged out into the street and hung.
No burning villages and bombed towns. No horrific pictures of victims of out-of-control fighting.
No photos of mutilated bodies lining the streets.
No, what we had was a handshake and a tour of the former regime's palatial mansion.
This is why I love America.
