We Visit the 9/11 Memorial from Russia

The September 11th Memorial from the People of Russia to the People of the United States is dignified and spectacular. If sits on New York Harbor in Bayonne, New Jersey. My wife and I decided to see for ourselves after hearing about it from friends in Minnesota and reading about it on the Internet. We cannot understand why it has not garnered more exposure in the mainstream press and why it was virtually ignored by the previous administration. The site is tranquil and when we visited today, there was a cruise ship ready to take on passengers at a nearby slip. What a fitting memorial to the many lives that were lost on that terrible day in September 2001. You Can Read More About the Memorial Here and Here.

The Secret is Out!

The Russian September 11th Memorial in Bayonne

Hear LeeAnn Rimes sing "Amazing Grace" at the dedication of the Teardrop memorial given to the people of the United States of America by the people of Russia. It is located in Bayonne, New Jersey. How many of you knew about it? I didn't. What a shame that it has not been afforded better coverage. The memorial is stunning.

Susan Boyle -- The Ugly Duckling Story

Every once in a while, an event or story comes along that proves that we do indeed live in a universe filled with strangeness. I tried mightily to come up with a fitting cartoon for this story, but in the end, the reality is far stranger than anything I could draw. The sad note is that all of us have been deprived of this incredible voice for lo these many decades. So, Susan Boyle, I nominate you as the "Swan of the Year."
